Windows 10 End of Support Is Coming: What to Do in 2025

Microsoft has confirmed Windows 10 support ends in October 2025. Here's how to start planning now.

Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 will reach end of support in October 2025 — still well over a year away, but exactly the kind of deadline that sneaks up if you don't start planning early. After that date, no more security updates will be released for Windows 10.

Start by inventorying which of your business PCs are running Windows 10 and checking their eligibility for Windows 11 using Microsoft's PC Health Check tool. Machines that can't be upgraded due to hardware requirements will need to be replaced before support ends, not after.

Budgeting for hardware replacement over the next year, rather than all at once next fall, will make this transition far less painful than treating it as a last-minute scramble.
